"... one of the best guitarists I've ever heard around Minneapolis."

-Chad Norling

Tryg Johnson is a musician, teacher, and performer from Minneapolis, MN. He can play many instruments including guitar, drums, vocals, piano, bass, banjo, and ukulele. Most notably, he is identifiable by his trademark hat.

He has worked with producers such as Steve Southerland, Dex Barstad and Will Fritscher, and with the bands Her Wave, Tryg Johnson & the Renaissance, and Crust. He was an opener for Cory Medina & The Brothers on a midwest tour. He also opened for The Time at a Prince tribute concert at the Minnesota Music Cafe.

Most of his current work is recorded in a local studio he built with his bandmate/friend Wesley Carlson, and has recorded in studios such as Winterland.

Though he specializes in blues guitar, Tryg is a versatile musician who can work his way around pretty much any instrument you throw at him.
